you forgot….”Just sit there and bleed for a while before you taste some real pain.” in your movie quotes. Atlas Shrugged huh… remind you of anyhing? Great book. take it easy

Heartbreak Ridge has thousands of great one-liners. Wish I could add them all. You know, Gunny’s character in the movie could easily have fit into an Ayn Rand book.

Anyway, glad to see you stopped by. Later. Oh, and you spelled “anything” wrong. πŸ™‚

Hi Jason — Get a 100-watt rig, not a QRP rig like the FT-817. Until we get a bunch of sun spots that stick around, QRP from KH6 is an exercise in frustration for anyone operating with small HF antennas. Keep in mind that you’re thousands of miles from anyone. When I got licensed in ’04, I wanted to get an 817 as a starter rig. Wiser and more experienced local hams talked me out of it. the 857 and 897 are essentially the same radio, one being bigger to provide room for batteries. I found an 897 too big and awkward for the portable/mobile use I am restricted to. Get the 857 or, for about the same money, a used IC-706 MkII G. If you want new, and don’t want to spend over a grand, stick with the 857. They’re fine radios.

Aloha,Dad,Lilly has really grown! How old is she? Does she go to school? If she does, then what grade is she in? Does she want to see me? does Elliot want to see me? When can I see Lilly and Elliot? I don’t know if I am going to summer school yet so I don’t know if I can come to Hawaii with you, because I think I’m failing school. Tell Lilly and Elliot I love them so much I just want to squeeze them real tight. Tell Kate and Anna I love them to.So maybe someday you can teach me to fly an airplane to,or a train,or something else. So,are you and Anna going to have another babe? I got to go! Bye Dad!

Aloha Tyler and Alexis! It’s good to see you guys on the internet. To answer some of your questions real quick:

Elliot’s name is Elliot Lee Stone. He was born on Feb 4th. Lily’s is LillyAnna Rita Stone. She just turned 3, so she’s not in school yet.

The programming thing is cool. I took a C++ class and loved it. What language are you learning?

Of course Elliot and Lily (and me πŸ™‚ ) want to see you. When ever I do see you guys again, I will take you flying. It is sooooo cool to just rent a plane and fly around the islands! I flew last weekend for a couple of hours. Rented the plane with a friend, took off from the Honolulu airport, and flew out over Diamondhead and Kokohead, then out and all the way around the island of Molokai. We were whale watching and saw over a dozen whales! It was awesome.

I’m glad you guys found this blog, but make sure you check out my bike blog:

    Love, Dad.
